This August, Starbucks will launch a line of vegan creamers at retailers nationwide. The non-dairy creamers—which are the first vegan products in the company’s existing creamer line—are inspired by customers’ favorite in-store beverages and are made with a blend of almond and oat milks. The two new vegan flavors are Hazelnut (inspired by the Hazelnut Latte) and Caramel (inspired by the Caramel Macchiato)—which Starbucks describes as “crafted with sweet, buttery caramel and hints of vanilla flavor.”
The creamers are part of a joint retail partnership between Starbucks and Nestlé. “The launch of Starbucks Non-Dairy Creamers builds onto Starbucks’ entry into the creamer category last year,” Jason Merideth, Nestlé General Manager, Creamers Portfolio told VegNews. “It’s the latest example of innovation from the Nestlé and Starbucks global coffee alliance, which combines the well-loved flavors and premium coffee of Starbucks with Nestlé’s authority in the creamer category. The new Starbucks Non-Dairy Creamers bring consumers an exciting new way to enjoy coffee at home, particularly as non-dairy creamers are poised to continue growing in popularity.”
In-store, Starbucks added its first vegan cold foam options in June. Customers nationwide can now order almond milk cold foam on any beverage instead of dairy or can opt for prepared drinks Cold Brew with Cinnamon Almondmilk Foam and Cold Brew with Dark Cocoa Almondmilk Foam. In the Midwest and California customers can also order Cold Brew with Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam.
Starbucks also added its first plant-based meat option to its menus nationwide in June vis-a-vis the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich—which is pre-assembled with animal-derived ingredients and cannot be ordered vegan.
