3 Warm Winter Cocktail Recipes for Chilly Nights

As the leaves turn color and the weather turns colder, it’s time to turn the slow cooker up and enjoy the easiest, most soul-warming cocktails you’ll ever make. Packed with autumn flavor and thoughtfully designed to keep you in good spirits, these big-batch, slow cooker cocktails will deliver unmatched coziness anywhere they’re served.

Prep Time: 5 – 10 minutes | Makes 10 – 12 servings

A candied ginger garnish adds a classy finishing touch.

1. Hot Toddy

Ingredients:

2 cups (475ml) whiskey
2 tablespoons maple syrup
½ lemon, juiced
2-inch piece ginger, sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
3 cups (710ml) water

Preparation:

  1. Combine whiskey, maple syrup, lemon juice, ginger, cinnamon sticks, and water in a large pot. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce to low heat and leave for up to 30 minutes. Garnish with a lemon slice and a cinnamon stick.
Warm Winter Cocktails
This cozy mulled cider is perfect after dinner.

2. Mulled Cider

Ingredients:

8 cups (1.75L) apple cider
12 ounces (350ml) spiced rum
3 cinnamon sticks
10 cloves
4 star anise
2 red apples, quartered
Peel of 1 orange

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce to low heat and leave for up to 1 hour. When serving, keep warm over low heat. Garnish with twisted orange peel and mulled spices.
Warm Winter Cocktails
This citrusy cocktail is infused with cinnamon.

3. White Winter Sangria

Ingredients:

1 bottle (750ml) white wine
¼ cup (60ml) orange juice
¼ cup (60ml) white cranberry juice
¼ cup (50g) sugar
Orange slices
2 cinnamon sticks
1 stem rosemary
2 granny smith apples, diced

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce to low heat and leave for up to 1 hour. Strain and serve warm, garnished with rosemary and orange slices.
