Landmark global beauty brand, Lush, has released a new range of package-free bubble bars.
The release fell over Black Friday to encourage customers to be mindful of their shopping habits over the mass-shopping period.
The brand joins a myriad of others campaigning for Green Friday, over fears for the planet.
‘Good for the planet’
Announcing the launch on social media, Lush said: “This Black Friday, go green and make choices that are good for you and good for the planet.
“To help do our part, we’ve released a new range of naked, zero-waste bubble bars so you can skip the plastic and enjoy a fantastic, earth-friendly bubble bath.”
Lush’s new range
The vegan bars include a range of different scents from butterscotch to raspberries, such as The Honey Pot and Puppy Love.
The bars are part of Lush’s ‘naked’ range including products sold without any packaging. They vary in size and shape, from a mermaid’s tail to a candy cane.
Co-founder of Lush, Mo Constantine, said: “Packaging is rubbish and for too long we have had to suffer excessive amounts of it.
“Now that the true financial and environmental costs are becoming obvious, customers are challenging manufacturers and retailers to cut the wrap.”
Businesses are abandoning Black Friday and donating to charities or planting trees instead. This is part of Green Friday, including vegan health and fitness brand, Vivo Life.
This comes as environmental campaigners have spoken out about the worrying impacts the packaging-heavy shopping holiday has on the planet.
Lush has also released a limited edition soap to help save endangered orangutans.
